Sonya Mulligan is a writer and director for film and the stage. Herself and Rachel Gregan co-directed the short film Staged starring Martina Walker and Elga Fox. Staged won Best Score 2016 in the Dublin International Short Film and music Festival (DISFMF). She is currently working on a number of projects including a stage play and a documentary Outitude about the Irish lesbian community. She was Executive Producer for six short plays Bittersweet. She wrote and directed the short play of which there is a film version A Dying Shame which was performed in the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival (IDGTF) in 2013 and produced and directed Live Love Laugh for Eilis O’Carroll (which won the Doric Wilson Intercultural Dialogue Award 2012.) Her short film Into the Wild was premiered at GAZE, the Dublin International Gay Film Festival, in 2011. She has produced several other short films and writes plays, film scripts & poetry.
